PETER BARNES - PIANO AND GUITAR
Peter Barnes Peter Barnes has been playing piano, guitar, flute, and assorted other instruments for traditional dancing since 1971. He has been performing for dances and concerts, leading ensemble workshops, and generally acting in a crazy and often undignified manner for years. He is arguably one of Boston's busiest musicians, and works with the bands Bare Necessities, Dark Carnival, Yankee Ingenuity and The Latter Day Lizards. He has performed with many traditional greats including Seamus Connolly, Joe Derrane, Cathie Ryan, Chris Norman, Alasdair Fraser, Rodney Miller, and Joe Cormier.
BRIAN BENDER - TROMBONE
Brian Bender Trombonist Brian Bender, who hails from California, is a graduate of the New England Conservatory's Third Stream Studies Department. Brian is well-versed in jazz, African, Latin and various Caribbean music, and is especially well known for his work playing with the Wholesale Klezmer Band as well as the African Reggae group Black Rebels. Brian also performs regularly with the Pangeans (World Music) which is a favorite in the Western Massachusetts area. Brian has performed at Carnegie Hall, the Presidential Inauguration of Bill Clinton, the Cape Verde Islands (West Africa), Israel, Egypt, Alaska and throughout the United States.
LISE BROWN - TENOR SAX AND FLUTE
Lise Brown Lise Brown, founder and chief arranger for Big Bandemonium has performed everywhere from Radio City Music Hall to Calcutta, India, including stints with such varied performers as Celia Cruz, The Temptations, and Pete Seeger. When she moved from New York City to New England in 1997 and found herself surrounded by fiddlers, Lise adapted her high energy style to the local traditional music scene. Lise has been on staff at Pinewoods, Buffalo Gap, Swannanoa, Dance Flurry, Falcon Ridge, Old Songs Folk Festival and many more. She currently performs with Big Bandemonium, Dark Carnival, and the Blue Ox Swing Band.

COREY DIMARIO - DOUBLE-BASS

Corey Dimario Corey DiMario, on upright bass, is a diverse musician. He is a member of Crooked Still, a Boston based quartet specializing in traditional American roots music, and Spin, which performs Celtic music based in the New England Contra Dance tradition. Corey also performs with The Latter Day Lizards, and Dark Carnival. He performs bluegrass and contemporary folk music with Compass Records recording artist, Jake Armerding and is a member of Aoife O'Dormovan. Additionally, he has performed with guitarist Russ Barenberg, pianist McCoy Tyner, saxophonist Steve Lacy and drummer Lewis Nash.
VAN KAYNOR - FIDDLE
Van Kaynor Van Kaynor comes from a rich family background of Celtic, English, Swedish and classical music. His fiddling adds a pure and playful energy to Big Bandemonium and his other main band The Moving Violations. He has been on staff at many dance camps throughout the country, has appeared on "A Prairie Home Companion" and when he is not on the stage, you will often see Van kicking up his heels on the dance floor. Van also teaches various forms of Scandinavian dance.
DAVE LANGFORD - FIDDLE
Dave Langford Dave Langford, a founding member of the popular band The Latter Day Lizards, also performs with the mega-fiddle band Childsplay. Dave is an experienced and versatile fiddler and guitarist and fiddle teacher from the Boston area. A veteran of 20 years of playing for public dances, weddings, parties and late night sessions, Dave combines multiple styles of fiddling with fierce energy and drive. He has been a staff member for music and dance weeks at Pinewoods, Buffalo Gap, Ogontz, Augusta, as well as dozens of weekend long events around the country.
KEITH MURPHY - GUITAR, PIANO, FOOT PERCUSSION
Keith Murphy Keith, a founding member of the group Nightingale, is a native of Newfoundland, Canada, where dancing and music go hand in hand. He is well known for his Irish style DADGAD guitar playing as well as for his expertise on mandolin and piano. French Canadian foot percussion is frequently part of his compelling rnythmic presence. He is a much sought after accompanist for both dance and concert. Keith has also published a book of his original tunes entitled Black Isle Music.
ADAM SCOTERA - TRUMPET AND SOPRANO SAX
Adam Scotera We never cease to be amazed at the depth of Adam's intuitive grasp of music. He brings to his playing a wide knowledge of jazz theory and history, attention to detail, deep feeling, and a mature harmonic sense. Adam alternates between trumpet and soprano sax, creating beautifully-colored solos and melodies. He plays in the Inner Orchestra as well as a host of Latin bands based in western Massachusetts.
BECKY TRACY - FIDDLE
Becky Tracy At it's core, Becky's fiddling is a striking combination of power and beauty. Dancers around the country and beyond have known her clear and steady beat, while in concert, her sonorous tone has melted many a heart. Along with Nightingale, the highly popular dance band, Becky is also known as a member of Wild Asparagus where she has been a melodic bedrock As part of her groups, Becky has performed throughout the length and breadth of the U.S. and has made musical forays to England, France, Denmark, Canada and even Guatemala.
